Not a great day weather wise for flowing Rugby. The players did well just to stand up in the near like hurricane wind. The BaBa's were made up with players from winnington and southport with a few west park girls to even the numbers. The game kicked off with West Park, Gracie B ploughing forward to steal the ball and March on for the 1st score.
2 more scores in quick succession from Gracie B led Coach Doyle to change things around to even the sides up. This seemed to work with the BaBa's going over with a dynamic run from Lucy who really impressed on her debut. The game ebbed and flowed with scores from Grace Doyle first for West Park then the BaBa's, Amelia, Isobel and Sofie.
In the 2nd half the wind seemed to get stronger with spectators trying their best to shelter. On the pitch the tackling visibly got stronger with both sides putting in some impressive hits. The deadlock was broken with a score for West Park by Isobel this was followed by scores from Gracie B , Lexi , Amelia Grace Doyle , Lucy would have scored again but unselfishly passed the ball to Grace Doyle to score.
The ball then seemed to be "a hot potato " where both sides struggled with the ensuing hurricane winds. Further scores for the BaBa's from number 8 Maddie , and the lone Southport player number 15. Further scores for West Park by another couple from Gracie B and one for Isobel. This brought the final whistle from coach Doyle with the final score West Park 75 - 40 BaBa's. Coach Doyle did an amazing job as a newly qualified level 2 referee and kept the game flowing
