West Park 6 Keswick 6.
West Park made the lengthy journey up to Keswick at the weekend and were rewarded with a draw after a great first half performance followed by a 50/50 second half performance.
Good running from Matt Potter, Marv Hannon (who had finally worn his sticky bandit gloves) and Ryan Littler put West Park on the front foot and earned them 2 kickable penalties which McMahon converted.
Keswick threw everything they had at the West Park line but excellent defence meant they just could not get over.
In the second half West Park did not show the same efforts. Poor discipline for a 20 minute spell allowed Keswick to even up the scores.
They spent the final 20 minutes pegged back on their line as the Keswick 10 nudged the ball to the corners.
However great defensive work at the lineout and in the back line meant that West Park held on for the draw.
The game was then followed by some superb drinking skill. Most notably Chris Birkett who made two-pint glass of bitter look like a shot of orange juice.
