Littleborough RUFC
West Park (St Helens) RFC
2 converted tries in the opening 5 minutes were the main reason West Park 2nds lost out on the winning points. The Littleborough backs showing good hands and pace on both occasions.
Park responded with a driving maul from a 5 metre line out which hooker, Tom Speight, finished neatly. Luke McMahon adding the extras from wide out. Park then reduced the gap even further with 2 converted penalties to make it 14-13 at the break.

Another penalty from Park ten minutes into the second half gave them the lead after some indiscipline from the Littleborough forwards.
Unfortunately, it was West Park"s turn to show indiscipline and the Littleborough 10 made them pay with 2 great conversions which took them 4 points clear.

Park needed a try to take the spoils and were so close to doing just that with a series of pick and gos all the way the the Littleborough 5 metre line but it was not to be as West Park gave an accidental offside for running into their own player. This gave the referee the excuse he needed to end the game as time ran out for Park. A good fight back from the green and gold but a poor start costing them eventually.
