West Park (St Helens) RFC
Bowdon RUFC
West Park 2nds 13 Bowdon "2s" 46.
Bowdon 1st XV were without a fixture this week, but their fan base, also known as the Richard Cranium Society, swore blind that their 2nd team featured no 1st team representatives.

A quick look at the Bowdon website disputed this statement as it clearly showed their starting inside centre posing for a first team photograph. This led West Park to two conclusions: either their inside centre was dropped from the 1st XV for some other cash hunting Richard Cranium or the upstanding gentlemen on the side line, one of whom was President of Society, lied through their poorly whitened teeth.

Anyway, Bowdon scored some points in the first half, most of them funnily enough from the inside centre, and West Park only kicked a penalty. 20plus points to 3 at the break.
West Park showed more PATIENCE in attack throughout the second half and managed to post a couple of tries. The first was one for the forwards as many a bearly man took the ball closer and closer to the Bowdon line.

Eventually the ball went on down the short side to John Paul "ruggers" Redmond who gave it the old Anthony Joshua hand off to squeeze in at the corner. The conversion from Dan Garner going closer to the corner flag than the posts however everyone in the second team agreed it was still better than any Luke McMahon attempt.

The second try began much like the first with the forwards keeping it tight before swinging it out to Jonjo O'Neil, who proved he is a better centre than Tom Carsley by bursting through two or three of the Bowdon defenders to score. Another conversion sailing wide but West Park didn't care as the try gave the West Park Coaching Staff a much needed rest from the Richard Cranium Society.

Bowdon scored some more points but no one cared as the game was beyond doubt. A much better second half from West Park but a lesson in how to attack from Bowdon and their "second" team.
